The monthly
general meeting this month was a retirement party for Irv
Knopf celebrating forty-five years of faithful service to the
auxiliary.
Commander
Keyes
welcomed guests and members. He thanked the High's
and
Bruno's for the work and preparation that had gone into
this party.
Mayor
Calamaras gave a wonderful speech praising Irv for his
past support to the boating public. The mayor also thanked
the Flotilla for its contribution to Safe Boating Classes
for the public.
Irv
thanked
the flotilla for recognizing his long service.
Irv
may
be retired, but he has promised to continue to instructing
Safe
Boating Classes.
Reviewing the
Flotilla Yearly Rosters for the last eighteen years, many names of
members leap off the pages who were recruited and encouraged to
join the Coast Guard Auxiliary by Irv Knopf.
