I want to extend
thanks to all the Flotilla Staff Officers who participated in the
Pre Hurricane Wilma Emergency Telephone Tree, assisted in its
revision, and fulfilled their assignments in a timely way. I could
not have completed my work unless these tasks were taken seriously
and reported to me quickly and efficiently. In order for us to be of
service to the Division and the District, we must be able to
communicate, and our communication was excellent. Congratulations!
Take time to view Denis' interview on Tuesday, November 15, Channel
21 at 7:30 pm. Lilly's "Around Town" attended Irv Knopf's retirement
at the facility, filmed it and also an interview with Commander
Keyes.
Our Change of Watch is upon us. As our flotilla comes to the close
of another year and we prepare to set goals for the coming year, I
want to thank all staff officers for their excellent work. For those
who are staying on in their positions, I look forward to working
with you; for those who are leaving office, I congratulate you and
know you will serve the flotilla in other ways.
I want to thank Marie High for her untiring work on the Fore and Aft
and wish her well as she supports our flotilla in ways that fit into
her busy schedule. Marie has seen our newsletter go from a one or
two page document to one which is now produced on our website. Her
struggle to learn new programs, to contrive different formats, and
to urge our FSOs to submit their reports on time show her commitment
to making our flotilla voice the excellent one it is today. Thanks,
Marie, from all of us!
Our winter fellowship picnic will take place at the moorings (DIRAUX
WEST) on December 3, the night of the Venice Boat Parade. All
members and their family and friends are invited. I will need to
know how many are attending and what you intend to bring to the
picnic. We will convene around 4:00 pm, 3:00 pm if you wish to
volunteer to help set up. Please plan to attend.
