Flotilla Commander's Message

          In case anyone hasn't heard, Doug Simpson is retiring from the Coast Guard Auxiliary. In Doug's dictionary, retired does not mean uninvolved as he'll still take an active role in training at the National level.

The Division Meeting is Saturday, October Oct 8th at 0900 and it will be held at Flotilla 8-4 next to the 10th Street Ramp. For those planning to attend, we usually meet around 0730 at the Belgium Waffle Diner on Rt. 41 just south of Stickney Pt Road.

At the October meeting we will hold our annual elections for Flotilla Commander and Vice Flotilla Commander. These are the only elections the Flotilla has each year and I ask all to attend and vote. We normally hold these elections in November but Division has asked each Flotilla to move the process to October.

The Change of Watch is scheduled for Saturday, November 12th and is on the StarShip Dining Yacht out of Tampa. The price is $53.00 per person including transportation. If you plan to attend please send your check to Momi Magyar.

The final phase of the Security Program has ended. As of September 15th all Flotilla 8-6 members have fulfilled their requirements except for three who have been dis-enrolled.
